  • mac installer dmg seagate wireless plus.
  • far cry 3 mac port?

Maybe at one point I will give that a try. The-Pro said:. GGJstudios said:. As for the claims about more, either those claiming that are mistaken about which model they have it happens frequently or they have more installed, but Mac OS X is not actually using the extra RAM. This has happened a lot over the years. Well those pictures from the chinese site certainly show that 16GB are available in the Activity monitor.

I am a little skeptic about the more then 8Gb but it appears to be a recent thing since mountain lion. So makes sense it just now being discovered. Apr 15, 42 0 Canberra, Australia. Recently did this myself. OSX Jul 24, 1, 39 United States. I have read reports of people getting 12GB to work, but failed on 16GB. It seems that there are several different reports. The only way to know on your machine would be to try two 8s and see what happens. I will report back soon. Would be awesome if it works. California macrumors Aug 21, 3, Sadly it does not work in my 15" i7 MBP.

It gives me all kinds of messages at the apple logo when both 8GB sticks are installed. When one is installed it kind of starts up but always hangs at different stages. Once it booted up all the way but after 5 seconds on the desktop it froze and restarted. It also does not boot when my "old" 4GB MHz samsung stick and a new 8GB is installed, gives me the messages aswell, see pic below. I tried all kinds of combinations etc, nothing makes it work. I doubt it will work though.

Last edited: Oct 5, I also purchased that one because it was directly through amazon which means I am able to send it back for a full refund simply. The mushkin Mhz is sold through another person, and I didn't want to risk them not taking it back incase it does not work. Maybe ill buy that one. I have to tell people what you told me now all the time aswell Thanks anyway. I just returned a small coby tv yesterday it was 99 bucks and I needed a small cheap monitor for a pc that is almost never used. California said:. Scroll to choose your model.

When you find your model, selecting it will make all the upgrade options appear.

An example of a model identifier is iMac7,1. This is a very hard question to answer as it can be very specific to each user. You'll need as much RAM as you can get. However, if you are a high graphic user - playing games, or editing videos and photos you will need between 16G and 20GB. You really should consider 32GB. We hear this question everyday.

A lot of Mac users call us after they have upgraded to the latest OSX and there computer has slowed down. The simple answer is you need more RAM. When you upgrade your OSX, files get bigger, and the computer want to do more. When the Mac runs out of RAM it starts using the hard drive as ram.

This is called Paging. You'll start to see the spinning wheel on screen and the Mac freeze. Running your computer like this is the equivalent of driving your car in first gear all the time. You wont reach top speed, and your car will wear out fast. Install more RAM, it will fix the immediate bottle neck. For a lot of models, it is a simple procedure. We can advise on the best way to upgrade. The reason for this is simple. In most cases the higher density module was release after the iMac or MacBook Pro and Apple never retroactively updates their upgrade information.

One example of this is the MacBook Pro. However it is well known that the entire range of MacBook Pros are quite happy to utilise a maximum of 16gb of RAM Memory via 2x8gb modules. Another popular system that this applies to is the 27" iMac. Apple stated official maximum RAM Memory Utilising 4x4gb modules.

Another device that is more then happy having individual 8gb modules instead. Unofficial maximum Utilising 4x8gb modules. We have sold thousands of 8gb modules into the iMac range without issue and subsequently making many, many customers very pleased. Customers are now free to add up to 32gb RAM Memory into these iMacs and continue to utilise them far into the future. Upgrading the memory in your computer is usually the first step to increasing it's performance.

Additional memory allows you to run more applications simultaneously without the computer slowing down. It also allows you to multi-task to a much greater degree as your applications, email, web browsing, etc. However additional RAM does not solve all the issues of a "slow" computer. If you find that it takes the latest OS a long time to load or your spreadsheets are taking minutes before they are ready to use, then you should consider swapping out your old spinning HDD for an SSD. In a working environment, waiting minutes each time a new program loads or for your computer to be ready to use, is a time consuming and costly exercise.

Added up, wait times increase to hours lost when totaled over the course of just a week.
